TRENTON – Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Consumer Affairs, along with 42 other Attorneys General, announced a $700 million nationwide settlement with Johnson & Johnson to resolve allegations related to the marketing of talc-based baby powder and body powder products. New Jersey will receive just over $30.2 million as part of this settlement.

Platkin announced today that the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights (DCR) has resolved four cases alleging that Coldwell Banker Realty, a real estate brokerage company, violated the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination’s (LAD) prohibition against housing discrimination based on source of lawful income. Under the LAD, housing providers cannot refuse to rent to potential tenants or discourage them from renting because they receive government rental assistance.

Gross Operating Profit for the first quarter of 2024 was $155.4 million, which represents an 8.7% decrease when compared to the first quarter of 2023.
