Juvenile Justice Commission proposes amendments to detention facility standards

TRENTON – The Juvenile Justice Commission has proposed to readopt with amendments two agency regulations regarding the Manuals of Standards for Juvenile Detention Facilities and Juvenile Detention Commitment Programs in New Jersey.

The rules and proposed amendments establish the minimum standards which must be met by all county juvenile detention facilities that provide care and custody for youth awaiting court disposition for delinquent offenses and that operate short-term commitment programs.

The proposed amendments were published in the New Jersey Register on May 6, 2024.
