She addressed several issues, including legislative decisions in the House, economic impacts, and immigration enforcement actions.

On April 2, 2025, Rep. Watson Coleman criticized the Speaker of the House's actions, stating, "The Speaker of the House tried to block a bill that would allow members of Congress who are new moms to vote by proxy while they recover with their newborn." She noted that the attempt failed, leading the Speaker to close the House for the remainder of the week, describing this as a failure of leadership.

Later on the same day, she highlighted economic challenges, "Fewer jobs, higher costs. Employers will have to lay off workers, businesses will pass price hikes onto consumers, and the economy will continue its Trump downturn." Watson Coleman argued that the resulting financial burden would fall on the general populace, rather than Trump's family or affluent associates.

The following day, on April 3, 2025, Watson Coleman addressed an immigration issue, stating, "This is appalling. Karim has lived in the US for 20+ years. He works, he pays taxes, he's married to a US citizen. He has no criminal record. He is a loving father and beloved member of his community." She called for Karim's immediate release from detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, citing the need for humane immigration practices.
