Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, who has served New Jersey’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress since 2015, shared a series of tweets recently highlighting her activities and concerns regarding current governmental actions. Rep. Coleman, a graduate of Thomas Edison State University, has been an active voice in politics since her time in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010.

On March 9, 2025, Rep. Coleman announced an upcoming live discussion with New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin scheduled for March 10 at 1:30 PM. She stated they would discuss efforts by New Jersey to counter what she described as the administration's "scorched earth campaign against working families." The tweet emphasized participation and involvement from the public: "Tomorrow at 1:30PM I’ll be LIVE with @NewJerseyOAG Matt Platkin to talk about what New Jersey is doing to fight back against this administration’s scorched earth campaign against working families, and what you can do to help."

The following day on March 10, Rep. Coleman posted another tweet inviting followers to join her live session on Instagram via her handle @RepBonnie: "We're live! Join us at @RepBonnie on IG".

Later that same day, Rep. Coleman addressed a concerning incident involving a lawful resident reportedly taken by federal agents due to his speech. According to her tweet, agents did not produce a warrant when requested by the individual's lawyer and moved him from New York to Louisiana without justification. She condemned the event as a violation of First Amendment rights: "A lawful resident was taken by the government because they didn't like what he said... Everyone should be outraged by this gross violation of the First Amendment."
