First Lady Tammy Murphy is set to host the 7th annual Nurture NJ Leadership Summit in East Brunswick on December 9. The event aims to support New Jersey's goal of becoming the safest and most equitable state for childbirth and child-rearing.
Murphy stated, "Over the past seven years, our Nurture NJ Leadership Summits have been an important resource in our work to make New Jersey the gold standard for maternal and infant health care." She highlighted progress such as moving from 47th to 28th in maternal deaths and improvements in breastfeeding rates. However, she emphasized that efforts will continue until New Jersey ranks first nationwide across all maternal and infant health benchmarks.
The summit will focus on strengthening and diversifying the perinatal workforce. It will feature national experts, collaborative discussions, and problem-solving sessions. Approximately 700 participants are expected, including doulas, hospital CEOs, healthcare providers, elected officials, activists, nonprofit leaders, and mothers.
The event will take place at the Hilton East Brunswick Hotel & Executive Meeting Center from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Press interested in attending should RSVP by December 8.
