Acting Governor Tahesha Way issued a statement on the passing of former President Jimmy Carter. In her statement, she expressed condolences and highlighted Carter's legacy.

"Today, we mourn the loss of former President Jimmy Carter," Way said. "His dedication to public service and humanitarian efforts has left an indelible mark on our nation and the world."

Way acknowledged Carter's contributions beyond his presidency, emphasizing his commitment to peace and human rights. She noted that his work with Habitat for Humanity exemplified his lifelong dedication to helping others.

"As we reflect on his life, let us remember his unwavering commitment to building a better future for all," Way stated.

Carter served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. After leaving office, he continued to engage in various philanthropic activities.

The acting governor concluded her remarks by extending sympathies to Carter's family during this difficult time.
