Nursing students at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) have once again achieved a perfect pass rate on the National Council of State Boards of Nursing's NCLEX exam. Between April 1 and June 30, 2024, all sixteen TCNJ nursing students who took the exam passed successfully. This is in contrast to the national average pass rate of 94.61% among first-time U.S.-educated candidates.
For a decade now, TCNJ nursing students have consistently surpassed both state and national averages for this crucial exam, according to Carole Kenner, dean of TCNJ’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Kenner stated, "Our faculty and staff are committed to teaching excellence, and this is evident in our consistently high NCLEX pass rates. We have stellar students who will change nursing care in New Jersey and beyond. I am very proud of this accomplishment."
The NCLEX exam serves as a rigorous assessment tool to evaluate an individual's readiness for entry-level nursing practice. It examines not only the application and analysis of information learned during nursing education but also critical thinking skills and the ability to make informed nursing judgments.
