A Veterans Day observance is set to take place at Princeton University Chapel on Monday, November 11, from 9 to 9:30 a.m. The event is open to the public and will be livestreamed on the Office of Religious Life's YouTube channel.

Capt. Kelley T. Jones, the U.S. Navy’s 2023 Arthur S. Moreau Scholar at Princeton University, will deliver remarks. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in security studies.

The program will feature an invocation by Rev. Theresa Thames, dean of religious life and of the chapel at the university. Kenneth Grayson, a supervisor in the university's electric shop, will perform the national anthem and "America the Beautiful." Dr. Mary Rorro, a psychiatrist for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, will present an original composition, followed by a trumpeter playing taps.

Princeton Mayor Mark Freda and Roger Williams from The Spirit of Princeton are slated to give welcome remarks. Khalil Abdullah, assistant dean for Muslim life at Princeton, will offer the benediction.

The event is sponsored by several organizations including the Office of the Vice President for Campus Life, Office of Religious Life, Human Resources, Office of Community and Regional Affairs, The Spirit of Princeton, various ROTC groups from Princeton University and Rutgers-Princeton University Naval ROTC and Air Force ROTC, Alumni and Friends of Princeton University ROTC, Princeton Veterans Alumni Association, Military and Service Veterans Resource Group and Princeton Student Veterans Alliance.
