Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin has addressed allegations of antisemitic remarks made by Lt. Colonel Sean Kilcomons. Platkin stated, "I have seen the public reports of allegations regarding conduct of Lt. Colonel Sean Kilcomons. This conduct, if substantiated, has no place in law enforcement or anywhere in our society." He announced his recusal from the investigation into these allegations and emphasized the importance of reserving judgment until the investigation is complete.

Platkin highlighted the necessity of not tolerating antisemitism or any form of bias, stating that leaders often dismiss or ignore such allegations, especially when those involved hold power. He remarked, "When allegations of bias are met with silence or, worse, reflexively defended by people in power, rather than seriously and swiftly investigated, it sends a clear message to all victims who might consider coming forward: don’t bother."

Reflecting on personal experiences with antisemitic slurs, Platkin expressed determination to combat bias and hate. He shared his disappointment over the possibility that a law enforcement leader might have used his authority negatively impacting his son. He concluded by expressing concern about societal acceptance or condonation of attacks based on identity or worship practices.
