Mercer County's four universities invested $7,861,578 on their basketball teams in 2023, a 6.4% increase over the previous year, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

The county’s funding for the basketball teams comprised 12% of all money invested in sports teams in 2023.

The average sports expenses in Mercer County have grown 102.5% since 2010.

Rider University stood out as the university in Mercer County that received the most basketball funding during 2023. The institution received $3,727,217 - or 47.4% of all the money destined to basketball teams.
