Governor Hochul and Governor Murphy have issued a joint statement addressing the need to minimize supply chain disruptions following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. "The tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore has touched every corner of the nation, and we are ready to support Governor Moore and the people of Maryland in any way," expressed Governors Hochul and Murphy. They acknowledged the widespread impact of the bridge collapse and emphasized their commitment to assisting those affected.
The governors also recognized the potential consequences of indefinite port closures on national and global supply chains, particularly affecting everyday consumers. They stated, "We have seen over the past several years that indefinite port closures can impact national and global supply chains, which hurt everyday consumers the hardest."

They informed that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is prepared to handle additional cargo. The governors have directed the Authority to assess all available resources to minimize disruptions in the supply chain.
