Dave Conner, the director of student life at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), has been honored with a 2025 Compass Award from the Northeast Greek Leadership Association (NGLA). This inaugural award recognizes past volunteers who have made significant contributions to the organization, celebrating leadership and commitment to NGLA's mission.

Conner served on the NGLA board for nine years and manages various aspects of student involvement at TCNJ, including fraternity and sorority life. He expressed his gratitude by stating, “It was a great honor to be recognized by an organization I have been a part of for a long time that has done great work in supporting volunteers.”

During his tenure at TCNJ, Conner has played a key role in enhancing student experiences through support for student government and facilitating fraternity and sorority expansion. Kelly Hennessy, assistant vice president for student affairs, praised Conner’s expertise: “Dave and his team use cutting-edge practices to build safe and strong communities here at the college.”

Tom Murphy, executive director of NGLA, highlighted Conner's impact: “This distinguished honor is reserved for former NGLA volunteers who have left an enduring legacy within the association, and Dave’s contributions exemplify the very essence of this award.”

In addition to Conner's recognition, Aimee Wardle, assistant director for student life at TCNJ, received the Bonnie Wunsch Volunteer Service Award. Wardle was acknowledged for her exceptional service to NGLA over six years in various roles on the Conference Committee. She reflected on her experience: “My NGLA volunteer experience has been one of the most rewarding professional development opportunities I’ve had.”

Both Conner and Wardle were presented with their awards last month during the NGLA Annual Conference held in Baltimore.
