The attorney for the State of New Jersey, Randy Mastro, issued a statement regarding the recent decision on the congestion pricing lawsuit.

Mastro's statement read: "We are obviously disappointed with today’s ruling and will be seeking immediate relief in federal court." He further added that "the USDOT’s and FHWA’s actions here were arbitrary and capricious" and expressed concern over what he described as "a huge blow to hard-working New Jerseyans who can least afford it."

In his remarks, Mastro emphasized the state's commitment to protecting its residents from what he termed an unfair financial burden. "We remain committed to pursuing every available avenue in defense of our residents," he stated.

This development follows ongoing legal challenges related to congestion pricing measures that have been a point of contention between state authorities and federal transportation agencies.
