Two days later, on February 21, 2025, she expressed gratitude for speaking to young individuals at Rutgers University’s Eagleton Institute. In her words: "It was a honor to speak with some of New Jersey’s brightest young minds at the Eagleton Institute at @RutgersU last night where we discussed the history and future of American democracy."

Later that day, Rep. Watson Coleman paid tribute to John Lewis, recalling their time working together in Congress and commemorating his birthday: "John Lewis was a hero of mine. It was an honor to work alongside him in Congress. Today would have been his 85th birthday. Here we are in June 2015 at a sit in in Congress demanding a vote on gun violence prevention."
