"Carolyn Murray has filled many roles in her esteemed career in public service, all of them revolving around the pursuit of doing what is right and affirming the public’s faith in our criminal justice system," Attorney General Platkin stated. He praised her leadership in creating the first statewide conviction review unit based in an Attorney General’s Office. Platkin expressed gratitude for her dedication to public service and noted his personal enjoyment working with her.
Reflecting on her career, Acting Prosecutor Murray said, "I have been fortunate to be able to spend so much of my career in public service, working for the people of New Jersey in the cause of justice." She expressed gratitude for serving as one of New Jersey's county prosecutors and thanked Attorney General Platkin for the opportunity.
Murray's extensive career includes being nominated and confirmed as a Superior Court judge in 2017 after various roles at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office starting from 2003. Her earlier experience includes joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey in 1995 where she handled criminal cases and served as Violent Crime Coordinator.
Sahil K. Kabse has been serving as Acting First Assistant Sussex County Prosecutor since February 2024. Attorney General Platkin remarked on Kabse's qualifications: "Sahil Kabse has spent his career as a line prosecutor... His experience makes him the ideal person to take over."
Kabse expressed his honor at assuming his new role: "I am honored to fill the role as Acting County Prosecutor and to serve the people of Sussex County." He acknowledged trust placed in him by Attorney General Platkin and Acting County Prosecutor Murray.
Kabse has significant prosecutorial experience across several counties including handling homicide matters. He previously held leadership positions within Sussex County's Major Crimes and Special Victims units. His background also includes work at Morris County and Essex County prosecutor offices.
