Human Services Commissioner Sarah Adelman and State Chief Innovation Officer Dave Cole have introduced a new Disability Information Hub website, announced during a virtual event for Disability Pride Month and the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The site, available at NJ.gov/Disabilities, is designed to connect New Jersey residents with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and advocates to state services and resources.

Governor Phil Murphy stated that the initiative aims to improve access to services and support for individuals with disabilities in New Jersey. "Together, we are breaking down barriers and empowering all New Jerseyans to thrive in their communities," he said.

Commissioner Sarah Adelman emphasized the significance of this launch during Disability Pride Month. She highlighted the collaborative efforts behind the project: “We are proud to launch this comprehensive and accessible resource... thanks to the dedicated work of various offices and individuals."

State Chief Innovation Officer Dave Cole described the hub as a product of collaboration with community-based service providers and other stakeholders. He acknowledged contributions from partners across the state in creating this resource designed for New Jersey's disability community.

Christine Norbut Beyer, Commissioner of NJ Department of Children and Families, praised the hub for simplifying access to essential information. She noted that it employs accommodating technologies to assist individuals and caregivers.

Separately, Governor Murphy expressed relief over Evan Gershkovich's release from Russia after being detained on espionage charges. Murphy thanked President Biden and allies for negotiating his return.

The Murphy Administration also announced $150 million in County Aid for infrastructure improvements through the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund. NJDOT Commissioner Fran O’Connor stated that these funds will help maintain county roads and bridges while reducing tax burdens on residents.

Additionally, residents were urged by Environmental Protection Commissioner Shawn M. LaTourette to conserve water amid ongoing dry conditions. The DEP continues monitoring water supplies closely as climate change exacerbates extreme heat conditions affecting water systems statewide.
