BIOQuébec, BioNJ, and Choose New Jersey have signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation between the life sciences sectors in Quebec and New Jersey. The agreement was formalized during Choose New Jersey's economic mission to Canada, led by the state's governor. This strategic partnership aims to provide members of both organizations with access to new resources, international markets, and events designed to foster innovation and growth in biopharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
"The New Jersey is the home of innovation, with a thriving life sciences sector thanks to collaboration with industry partners abroad," said Governor Murphy. "The partnership between BIOQuébec and BioNJ is a step forward in achieving crucial outcomes aimed at advancing research and development, education, and overall growth while advocating for patients' interests in New Jersey and beyond."
The MoU outlines a framework for cooperation that includes sharing best practices, promoting bilateral events such as trade missions, and participating in joint conferences. This collaboration will enable the life sciences communities in both regions to expand their global reach and impact.
This partnership signifies a significant commitment from both organizations to advance their respective sectors while creating tangible opportunities for their members. Additional details about specific events and opportunities arising from this partnership will be communicated to members in the coming months.
Benoit Larose, President and CEO of BIOQuébec, stated: "We are thrilled to partner with BioNJ through this memorandum of understanding. In today's global context where the life sciences industry faces unprecedented challenges and opportunities, it is crucial for trade associations like ours to cultivate strong relationships with international partners. Such collaborations not only mitigate risks related to volatile supply chains for the industry but also create opportunities to generate value for our members. This partnership will enrich the biotechnology sectors of Quebec and New Jersey through knowledge sharing and joint initiatives, representing a concrete step towards expanding our industries' influence abroad."
"Throughout Quebec, across the United States, and particularly here in New Jersey, many companies have forged durable strategic partnerships," commented Debbie Hart, President & CEO of BioNJ. "Alliances like that between BioNJ and BIOQuébec serve as catalysts for innovation by sparking new ventures and fostering cutting-edge research collaborations. We look forward to bringing our members together on a shared mission to elevate the life sciences sector with the ultimate goal of accelerating transformative medical breakthroughs for patients worldwide."
"As New Jersey's leading business attraction organization, Choose New Jersey is proud to facilitate this powerful collaboration uniting the life sciences sectors of New Jersey and Quebec to strengthen both economies," said Wesley Mathews, President & CEO of Choose New Jersey.
