Governor Murphy, Senate President Scutari, and Speaker Coughlin have issued a joint statement emphasizing the importance of voting rights in maintaining democracy. They expressed a commitment to ensuring that all individuals can participate in the electoral process without obstacles.

"The right to vote is the cornerstone of our democracy and everyone deserves the freedom to have their voice heard at the ballot box," they stated. The leaders highlighted their responsibility to promote participation and build trust in the electoral system.

They addressed concerns about religious beliefs potentially hindering voting access. "We cannot allow deeply held and legitimate religious beliefs to become a barrier to voting," they said.

In response, they announced support for moving the 2025 primary election date to June 10. They pledged collaboration towards achieving this objective: "We support moving the 2025 primary to June 10 and will work together to accomplish that goal."
