The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has released the total gaming revenue results for the second quarter of 2024. According to filings from casino licensees, net revenue for the quarter reached $829.8 million, marking a 1.3% increase compared to the same period last year. However, gross operating profit saw a slight decline of 1.3%, totaling $178.4 million for the second quarter.
For the first half of 2024, net revenue amounted to $1.60 billion, reflecting a 1.5% increase over the comparable period in the previous year. Gross operating profit for this six-month period was reported at $333.8 million, representing a 4.9% decrease from last year's figures.
The hotel occupancy rate in casino hotels for the quarter ending June 30, 2024, stood at 73.3%, a drop of 1.1 percentage points compared to the second quarter of 2023. For the first six months of 2024, the occupancy rate was recorded at 69.1%, down by 0.7 percentage points from the same period last year.
