Attorney General Platkin, along with the Office of Alternative and Community Responses and the Office of Justice Data, have introduced a new dashboard for the ARRIVE Together program in New Jersey. The dashboard aims to provide transparency and valuable insights into the program's operations and impact. Attorney General Platkin expressed pride in the program's accomplishments, stating, "With Governor Murphy’s and the Legislature’s continued commitment and financial support, we’ve proudly pioneered the nation’s first statewide alternative response program." The dashboard will allow for data-driven decision-making and customization of the program to meet the unique needs of each community.
Tiffany Wilson, Director of the Office of Alternative and Community Responses, emphasized the significance of the dashboard in enhancing data-driven public safety solutions. She highlighted that the platform will offer visibility into the program's efforts to improve interactions and build trust between law enforcement and communities. The dashboard will also serve as a tool to share insights with the public and further develop the program for future expansions.
Kristin Golden, Chief Data Officer of the Office of Justice Data, highlighted the importance of turning data into action through the ARRIVE Together program. The program was developed in response to a clear need identified in the use of force data to connect individuals in mental health emergencies with quality care efficiently. The ARRIVE Together Dashboard aligns with New Jersey's data-centric approach to public safety by openly sharing information about the program.
Initially piloted in December 2021, the ARRIVE Together program has expanded statewide, operating in every county in New Jersey and serving almost half of the State’s population. The program has achieved significant outcomes, including no arrests resulting from ARRIVE interactions, reduced use of force, increased utilization of mental health services, and eliminated racial disparities in outcomes.
The launch of the ARRIVE Together Dashboard reflects the commitment of the Office of the Attorney General to innovation in public safety and transparency as the program continues to grow and evolve.
