DIRECTOR OF FINANCE – CITY OF TRENTON, Mercer County, is seeking a dedicated and responsible person for full-time position to manage the finance functions as the Department Director of Finance.  The annual salary is $131,844. 

The City of Trenton operates on the State Fiscal Year (July 1 – June 30) and is currently a Transition Aid community.  The Finance Director shall be responsible for managing the four divisions of finance: 1. Accounts and Control - responsible for the City’s reporting, accounting and bill payment functions.  2. Treasury - responsible for all debt and cash receipt functions along with bank reconciliations.  3.  Tax Collection - responsible for all billing functions related to city properties except utilities.  4.  Tax Assessment - responsible for setting the assessment, exemptions and deductions for all city properties, taxable & exempt.  Each of these divisions has a division head.  The new Finance Director will also be responsible for supervising the preparation for the City’s Budget.   The Department of Administration in the City is responsible for Purchasing, Insurance and Payroll /HR, these are not Finance functions. 

Applicant must possess Municipal Financial Officer certification, have minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in NJ municipal government, and have fluency with the Edmunds financial package. BS in Accounting is highly preferred.
