Three student-athletes from The College of New Jersey were recognized by the New Jersey Athletic Conference on Apr. 13 for their recent performances. Hailey Wexler and Abby Williams from the lacrosse team, along with Lucia Garcia-Beltran from women’s track, received weekly awards announced by the conference.

These recognitions highlight strong individual contributions to their respective teams during recent competitions. Such awards bring attention to the athletes’ achievements and can serve as motivation for continued excellence throughout the season.

Wexler was named Defensive Player of the Week after making 13 saves in a close game against Salisbury, which is unbeaten this season. Her performance helped limit Salisbury to just one goal in the first half and six goals overall, marking Salisbury’s lowest scoring output so far this year. Williams earned her second Rookie of the Week award after leading TCNJ’s defense with five caused turnovers and four ground balls in a win at Kean, followed by three caused turnovers and three ground balls against Salisbury.

Garcia-Beltran was honored as Track Athlete of the Week for her performances at the TCNJ Invite & Multi event. She won both the 200-meter race with a time of 24.48 seconds—currently ninth nationally in Division III—and the 100-meter race with an 11.81-second finish, which ranks seventh nationally in Division III competition.

These weekly NJAC honors reflect ongoing success for TCNJ athletes across multiple sports as they continue their seasons.
