A small group from the TCNJ women’s track and field team participated in two separate competitions over the weekend, with some athletes competing at the Bomber Invitational in Ithaca, New York, and others at the Widener Schuylkill Showdown in Philadelphia.

At the Bomber Invitational, Sarah Scepkowski and Samantha Magin represented TCNJ in the pentathlon. Scepkowski achieved third place with a score of 3245, delivering top-three finishes in several events: third in the 60m hurdles, first in high jump with a mark of 1.63 meters (matching her personal record set last week), and second in shot put with a throw of 9.53 meters. Magin finished ninth overall with a score of 2582.

Meanwhile, at the Widener Schuylkill Showdown, TCNJ’s 4x400m relay team—Cameron Ruffini, Rukky Daranijo, Mackenzie Burke, and Kelly O’Grady—set a new meet record by winning their event with a time of 3:57.81.

Teagan Walker led TCNJ’s distance runners by winning the 5000m race in 18:31.34. Three teammates also placed within the top six: Ella Daly was fourth (18:56.77), Savannah Hodgens fifth (19:01.47), and Ava Biemuller sixth (19:37.73). In the mile run, Malissa Morabito set a personal best time of 5:33.51 to finish ninth.

In sprint events, Kelly O’Grady placed fifth in the 400m (58.59) while Kelsey Thomas was seventh (58.76); both times rank among Division III’s top ten this season. Thomas also competed in the 200m dash where she finished seventh (25.85), joined by Daranijo who took ninth place (26.11).

In middle-distance races, Lilla Porter finished second in the 800m (2:27.64) and Taylor Rooney came fourth (2:28.15).

Field event results included Allison Lavin placing fourth in weight throw (14.90 meters) and second in shot put (11.82 meters). Petra Doherty secured fifth place in high jump by clearing 1.45 meters; Erin McGauley was ninth in triple jump at 10.29 meters; Isabella Mraz set a new personal record for pole vault at 2.75 meters.

The Lions are scheduled to compete next weekend at both the Fastrack National Invite and Big Apple Invitational.
