TCNJ women’s swimming places second after first day at home invitational

The TCNJ women’s swimming team began the TCNJ Invitational with a strong performance, securing second place with 263.5 points after the first day of competition in Ewing, New Jersey.

Sarah Mandy led the team by winning the A final of the 500-yard freestyle. She finished with a time of 5:13.49, nearly eight seconds ahead of her closest competitor.

The Lions also earned four other top-three finishes. The relay team consisting of Bridget Cleveland, Katie Mazzacco, Lilliana Kuball, and Mary Kate Owens placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.42. Lilliana Kuball took second place in the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.59), while Bridget Cleveland finished third in the 50-yard freestyle (25.20). To end the day, Cleveland, Kuball, Owens, and Shaye Bundonis secured another second-place finish for TCNJ in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:04.61.

The TCNJ women’s swimming team is set to continue competing on the second day of the invitational, with preliminaries scheduled for 11:00 AM and finals at 6:00 PM.
