Nina Branchizio, Malin Jasinski, Rayhanah Ahmed, and Gavin Formon are among the 186 student-athletes from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) who have been named to the 2024-25 NJAC All-Academic Team. This recognition was announced by the league office on Monday.
The TCNJ Lions came close to leading the league with their number of honorees, falling just six short of Montclair State’s total.
Branchizio and Jasinski were nominated for the All-Academic First Team, while Ahmed and Formon were nominated for the Second Team. Each full member institution selects one male and one female athlete for both teams. The annual NJAC Awards Brunch in mid-June honored these selections.
Branchizio earned recognition as NJAC Player of the Year in women’s basketball after setting records at TCNJ for single-season and career 3-pointers. She was also a first-team All-NJAC and all-region selection, becoming only the third player in program history to receive College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honors with a third-team nomination.
Jasinski achieved first-team All-American status from both AFCA and D3football.com by breaking school records for receptions and yards in a single season. He finished second in Division III for receptions per game and receiving yards per game. As NJAC Offensive Player of the Year, he became TCNJ’s first player to earn first-team Academic All-America honors from CSC.
Ahmed, last year’s All-Academic First Team selection for TCNJ, received second-team NFHCA All-American honors and was named NJAC Offensive Player of the Year in field hockey. She has consistently earned first-team All-NJAC and all-region honors over four years.
Formon earned All-America recognition in men’s swimming at the NCAA Championships for his performance in the 400 IM and 800 free relay. He was also named to CSC Academic All-America Second Team. Entering his senior year, he is an eight-time All-American.
Eligibility for the NJAC All-Academic Team requires a minimum GPA of 3.20, completion of 24 class credits or sophomore standing, and participation in NJAC-sponsored sports.
