The ninth-ranked TCNJ men’s swimming and diving team marked Senior Day with a decisive win over Montclair State in Ewing, New Jersey. The event began with recognition for the team’s eight seniors: Hunter Adams, Brian Bull, Gavin Formon, Andrew Kidchob, Wyatt Marble, Dylan Negron, Nate Ross, and Nick Viola.

Following the ceremony, TCNJ dominated early by sweeping the top three spots in the first four events. The Lions’ relay teams started strong by taking the top three positions in the 200 medley relay. Will Heinze secured victory in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:51.55. M.J. Hoban followed with a win in the 200 freestyle (1:45.18), and Mason Bushay finished first in the 100 backstroke (53.34).

Montclair State managed to claim two event wins during the meet, but those would be their only victories of the day. Joe McChesney brought TCNJ back into winning form by taking first place in the 50 freestyle (21.95). After an intermission, Tyler McGeehan won the 200 breaststroke (2:10.19), and Derin Ozbas led in the 500 freestyle (4:46.65). McChesney narrowly won the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.93 seconds.

The Lions concluded their performance by sweeping both the 200 individual medley and the 400 freestyle relay events. Pablo Salazar claimed victory in the 200 IM (1:57.49), while TCNJ’s C relay team finished first in their race.

With their home schedule complete, TCNJ’s divers are set to compete at next Saturday’s USMMA Invite on January 31, while other team members prepare for upcoming NJAC championships.
