TCNJ men’s track and field wins Ithaca Quad meet

The TCNJ men’s track and field team competed at the Ithaca Quad meet in Ithaca, New York, on Saturday, facing teams from Ithaca, Cortland, and Oneonta. The Lions delivered strong performances across multiple events and secured several regional qualifications.

In distance running events, TCNJ athletes dominated the mile by taking five of the top six spots. Phil Pace led with a time of 4:20.83, followed closely by Brandon Chen and Kevin Matthews. All three met the regional qualifying standard for the event. Pace also won the 3000m race with a time of 8:45.69, qualifying for regionals again as TCNJ runners claimed the top six positions in that event.

Jack Attali and Jayvee Dumas finished first and second in the 60m hurdles, both earning regional qualifications. In the 400m dash, Anthony Senatore took first place with a time of 50.17 as TCNJ secured three of the top five spots. Noah Traverso qualified for regionals in the 200m after winning with a time of 22.18; he also placed fourth in the 60m.

Thomas Blach achieved a regional qualification in the 800m with his winning time of 1:55.43 while Brody Dillich finished second. The relay team composed of Traverso, Senatore, Attali, and Maxim Rychkov won the 4×400 relay with a regional-qualifying mark of 3:22.32.

In field events, Christian Farhat was fifth in weight throw (14.77 meters), while Braden Paulmenn earned fourth place in shot put (14.93 meters). Tyler Kadezabek and Matthew Corrigan tied for second place in pole vault (4.15 meters). In high jump, Jayvee Dumas won with Tyler Meier finishing second; Ryan Donelly placed fifth in long jump (6.37 meters).

The Lions are preparing to compete next weekend at the Liberty Open in Lynchburg, Virginia.

The College of New Jersey softball team split its doubleheader against Drew University on March 25. Maya Knasiak led TCNJ to victory with another shutout performance before Drew rallied late to take Game 2. The Lions will next face Rutgers-Newark at home.
