Maya Knasiak of The College of New Jersey softball team was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference’s Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season, according to an announcement by the organization on Apr. 6.
Knasiak played a key role in helping TCNJ secure a 4-0 record during the week. She pitched two complete-game shutouts and earned a save across three appearances, while also performing well at bat with a .500 average, one home run, two doubles, and seven runs batted in.
The junior pitcher threw 11.2 scoreless innings over three games and struck out 20 batters. She allowed only two hits during her pair of complete-game shutouts before recording her first save of the season in Game 2 against William Paterson, contributing to TCNJ’s sweep over their opponent.
Knasiak’s performance has placed her among Division III’s top pitchers as she leads nationally in WHIP (0.48) and shutouts (9). She is second in both hits allowed per seven innings (2.50) and total strikeouts (110), as well as ranking fourth in earned run average with a mark of 0.37.
In addition to this weekly honor, Knasiak was recently named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III Pitcher of the Year Watchlist.
