The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) has been included in The Princeton Review’s 2026 edition of The Best 391 Colleges, which was released on August 12. This guide highlights only about 15 percent of four-year colleges in the United States.

Since its inception in 1992, The Princeton Review’s Best Colleges guide has recommended institutions considered to offer strong undergraduate academics. TCNJ’s placement in this year’s list is attributed to its ongoing focus on academic quality, student satisfaction, and campus life.

The college received high ratings in several categories: admissions selectivity scored at 88 out of 99, quality of life at 89 out of 99, professors’ accessibility at 92 out of 99, and fire safety at 98 out of 99.

Additionally, TCNJ was named to The Princeton Review’s Best Colleges: Region by Region list for the Northeast. This distinction places it among other recognized schools such as Princeton, Yale, and Dartmouth.

The annual guide does not provide an overall numerical ranking for the colleges but includes detailed profiles and ratings that draw from both institutional data and student feedback.
