TCNJ divers sweep podium on day two of NJAC Championships

Beth Evaldi won her third conference title at the NJAC Championships, held in Hampton, Virginia, on the second day of competition. Evaldi defended her 1-meter diving title with a score of 398.20. Her teammates Melody Lin and Jenna Ringel joined her on the podium, finishing second and third respectively. Lin posted a score of 343.40 for her second consecutive runner-up finish in the event, while Ringel secured third place with 310.50 points.

In swimming events, Sarah Mandy finished 13th in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:16.00. Bridget Cleveland led TCNJ in the 50 freestyle, also placing 13th with a time of 24.71 seconds. Cleveland was one of six team members to achieve new lifetime bests during the meet. Emma Zakutney (25.38) and Mary Kate Owens (25.49) both set personal records in the same event.

Other swimmers who improved their best times in the 500 freestyle included Katie Mazzacco (5:16.14), Emma Vindigni (5:30.02), and Caroline Gemelli (5:32.06).

With half of the NJAC Championships completed, TCNJ aims to maintain its performance as competition continues into day three.
