Six athletes from The College of New Jersey’s (TCNJ) field hockey and women’s lacrosse teams have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team. This recognition highlights their achievements both in sports and academics.
Rayhanah Ahmed and Claire Engebreth were recognized for their contributions to the field hockey team. Ahmed, a nursing major with a 3.62 GPA, has now been selected twice for this honor. She concluded her TCNJ career by repeating as the NJAC Player of the Year and earning spots on both the NFHCA All-Region First Team and All-America Second Team. Engebreth, a computer science major with a 3.81 GPA, also earned her second CSC Academic All-District honors after leading TCNJ and the NJAC with 10 assists.
The women’s lacrosse team saw four members honored: Julia Charest, CJ Kole, Marissa Lucca, and Ally Tobler. Charest is in the Integrative STEM Master’s program with a 3.84 GPA and was named NJAC’s Goalie of the Year while earning her third IWLCA All-Boardwalk Region First Team spot. Kole received her first CSC Academic All-District selection after an impressive sophomore year as a mechanical engineering major with a 3.92 GPA.
Lucca, who majors in nursing with a 3.61 ERA, ranked high nationally in points and assists during her junior year, earning USA Lacrosse Second Team All-American status alongside her CSC recognition. Tobler completed her career as TCNJ’s all-time leading scorer; she is also noted for being one of only 14 players in Division III history to surpass 300 career goals.
The NCAA and NAIA Women’s At-Large Academic All-America honorees will be announced on July 8, 2025.
