Three athletes from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) have received weekly honors from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), according to an announcement by the conference.
Katie Fricker, a senior on the TCNJ women’s basketball team, was named Player of the Week. Fricker averaged 19.5 points, eight rebounds, and four assists per game over two NJAC victories. She scored a career-high 24 points in 27 minutes during a 33-point win against Montclair State, which marked the largest margin of victory in the history of that series. In another game against New Jersey City, she recorded a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds along with five assists in a 95-55 win. Across both games, Fricker shot 50 percent from the field and made all 16 of her free throw attempts.
Joe McChesney, representing men’s swimming and diving, was named Swimmer of the Week after his performance against Rowan on Saturday. The sophomore achieved a B cut time in the 200-yard butterfly at 1:49.55. This result leads all swimmers in the NJAC and is ranked third nationally among Division III competitors since December 20th. He also came close to earning another B cut in the 100-yard butterfly, missing it by just 0.11 seconds.
Hannah Simons from women’s swimming and diving earned Diver of the Week honors after qualifying for NCAA regionals for a second time on the one-meter board with a score of 255.45 over six dives at Rowan last weekend. She also posted a score of 244.80 on the three-meter board.
