Four alumni will be recognized for their contributions to public service and leadership at the upcoming Alumni Weekend on April 26. The honorees, chosen by the Alumni Association, have been acknowledged for their professional, philanthropic, or volunteer achievements.
Angelica Lamartino ’08, president of the alumni association board, expressed her admiration for the awardees: “Our alumni are making remarkable contributions to our communities through their outstanding professional, philanthropic, or volunteer accomplishments. I am honored to celebrate this year’s honorees at Alumni Weekend in April.”
The awards and recipients are as follows:
- Young Alumni Award: Catherine Tung ’15
- Humanitarian Award: Jennifer Keyes-Maloney ’95
- Alumni Service Award: Melanie Diaz Tavarez ’23
- Distinguished Alumni Award: Bruce Edwards Brown ’77
The ceremony will take place at the R. Barbara Gitenstein Library Auditorium at 1 p.m. Registration details are available on the Alumni Weekend website.
Catherine Tung graduated with a degree in political science and has held various roles advocating for housing policies and public policy development. She is involved with the New Jersey Young Democrats and works with McCarter & English Law firm.
Jennifer Keyes-Maloney began her career in public service addressing tax reform and education policy. She now serves as executive director of the New Jersey Association of State Colleges, focusing on enhancing access to higher education.
Melanie Diaz Tavarez has experience in leadership and mentoring roles. Her work includes supporting students through TCNJ’s EOF program and currently serving as an admissions counselor at Monmouth University.
Bruce Edwards Brown is noted for his role in spacecraft electrical design for NASA missions such as EOS Aqua and Aura satellites. He remains active within various organizations including the TCNJ Alumni Association.
