Nursing students at The College of New Jersey have achieved a remarkable feat, surpassing national standards on the National Council of State Boards of Nursing's NCLEX exam. The latest cohort of 44 students, who took the exam by October 1, accomplished a perfect pass rate of 100 percent. This is significantly higher than the national average pass rate of 88.5 percent for first-time U.S.-educated candidates.
"The nursing faculty and staff at TCNJ prepare our nursing students for success on the NCLEX," said Tracy Perron, chair of the nursing department. "We’re very proud that TCNJ nursing students have exceeded the national average on the NCLEX for the past 10 years."
This achievement marks the second instance in five years where TCNJ has attained a perfect pass rate. In 2019, a cohort of 65 candidates also reached this milestone.
"This achievement is a testament to our commitment to student success. I am proud of our students, graduates, faculty, and staff," said Carole Kenner, dean of TCNJ’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences.
The NCLEX exam is recognized globally as a leading licensure test and utilizes computerized adaptive testing technology to provide an accurate assessment of nursing competence.
