The College of New Jersey's School of the Arts and Communication is set to present its spring 2024 season, featuring a variety of artistic events. The season begins on February 7 with an opening panel and reception for the TCNJ Art Gallery’s new exhibition, "Two Years Gone." This exhibition will showcase contemporary Ukrainian art and include lectures and discussions, notably a Distinguished Lecturer Talk by José Luis Falconi from the University of Connecticut on February 12. Falconi will discuss the role of art and humanities in challenging contexts like war.
Continuing the season are performances by Las Cafeteras, a Los Angeles-based band known for their mix of Afro-Mexican rhythms and electronic beats. Additionally, TCNJ will host "Illegal: A New Musical," which explores America's early illegal immigrants through stories inspired by Angel Island's history under the Chinese Exclusion Act.
The season concludes with two concerts: "Life After Loss" presented by the TCNJ Wind Ensemble and "TCNJ Rocks On! 2.0" featuring Vintage Feedback. Dean Pamela Barnett emphasized that these events reflect the school's mission to foster creativity and connections across cultures or shared human experiences.

The exhibition "Two Years Gone" is supported by the Robert Lehman Foundation, Mercer County Cultural and Heritage Commission, Mercer County Board of Chosen Commissioners, New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and National Endowment for the Arts.
