The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) community demonstrated strong support for the institution during an expanded fundraising event. Traditionally a single Day of Giving, this year it was extended to a Week of Giving, resulting in over $440,000 raised for scholarships and programs.
Each of TCNJ's seven academic schools hosted various events aimed at fostering community spirit. Activities included potting flowers, building LEGO creations, assembling puzzles, and writing poetry and thank-you notes with a typewriter—a novelty for some students. These events also highlighted the significance of philanthropy in supporting the college.
Christine Buber ’12, MA ’15, director of annual giving at TCNJ, commented on the collective efforts: “Alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students collectively supported programs, scholarships, and opportunities that change lives. It was a truly inspiring week for TCNJ.”
During the week-long event:
- Over 1,600 donors contributed to their preferred causes with donations ranging from $1 to $50,000.
- All 15 challenge gifts were unlocked, effectively doubling donor contributions to total $144,000.
- 26% of donors specifically directed their contributions towards scholarship projects.
