TCNJ has appointed Brett Davidson as the associate vice president for development and alumni engagement, effective February 19. In this role, Davidson will focus on enhancing support for the college through comprehensive fundraising campaigns and by developing strategies for alumni engagement.
John P. Donohue, vice president for college advancement, stated, “Brett has a long and successful track record in higher education advancement. TCNJ will greatly benefit from his leadership as it continues to grow philanthropic support and alumni engagement to support our campus community.”
Davidson brings over 25 years of experience in development, covering areas such as leadership gifts, major gifts, corporate relations, annual giving, events, and operations. He expressed enthusiasm about his new position: “I am excited to work with the faculty, staff, students, and alumni of TCNJ,” Davidson said. “President Bernstein and the development and alumni teams have great plans for the college and I look forward to meeting the college’s philanthropic goals.”
Before joining TCNJ, Davidson served as senior executive director of alumni development and relations at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania from 2014 to 2023. His responsibilities included overseeing annual giving, major gifts, and alumni relations.
Earlier in his career at Wharton School starting in 2003 as manager of the Wharton Partnership he managed relationships with prominent alumni globally as a senior major gift officer. He also worked at Florida State University Foundation as assistant vice president managing annual and regional programs before returning to Wharton School in 2009.
Davidson's professional background also includes roles in development at organizations such as National Alliance of Business Columbia Business School United States Merchant Marine Academy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in geography and a master’s degree in athletic management from Florida State University.
