Governor Phil Murphy is set to lead a delegation on an economic mission to Canada in September. The four-day trip, organized by Choose New Jersey, will include visits to Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal. The focus of the mission is to strengthen ties between New Jersey and Canada while exploring partnerships and investment opportunities in sectors such as film and technology.
"Our efforts to bolster New Jersey’s thriving film and fintech industries must extend beyond both state lines and national borders. It is only fitting that we deepen our economic ties with Canada while exploring new opportunities to solidify our status as a global leader in these fields," stated Governor Murphy. He expressed anticipation for engaging with Canadian officials and industry leaders.
Wesley Mathews, President and CEO of Choose New Jersey, commented on the mission's goals: "We are excited to embark on this economic mission to Canada to highlight New Jersey's value proposition as the best place for businesses and families." He emphasized the commitment to fostering international partnerships.
The itinerary includes meetings with government officials and networking events with industry leaders across key sectors like film, television, and technology. Accompanying Governor Murphy will be First Lady Tammy Murphy, Wesley Mathews, and Tim Sullivan from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
The delegation will leave New Jersey on September 7th and return on September 10th. Media interested in joining should contact Ingrid Austin at iaustin@choosenj.com due to limited space availability.
