Thierry Klein from Nokia Bell Labs remarked, “We’re still on maybe Page 2 of Chapter 1 of the book on AI.” Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft Corporation, highlighted the responsibility associated with creating AI technologies, emphasizing the need to get it right as the first generation.
Princeton Provost Jennifer Rexford emphasized the collaborative effort required for AI innovation, stating, "No one institution can produce an innovation ecosystem on its own." The importance of making AI technologies broadly available for societal benefit was highlighted by Susan Dumais, Regional Head of Microsoft Research, who stressed the societal impacts of AI.
