TRENTON – Governor Murphy has taken significant action on a multitude of legislative measures, signing several bills into law and issuing conditional and absolute vetoes on others.
In a press release from the Office of Governor Murphy, it was announced that Governor Murphy has signed a comprehensive list of bills into law. Among them are measures such as S-530/A-5164, which pertains to providing school meal information to parents, and S-553/A-4238, which adds technology transfer duties to the New Jersey Commission on Science, Innovation, and Technology.
Additionally, Governor Murphy has approved bills like S-652/A-117, which permits certain municipalities to serve as local boards of health, and S-765/A-3246, which prohibits carriers from precluding dentists from billing covered persons under certain circumstances.
Furthermore, Governor Murphy conditionally vetoed several bills, including S-539/A-2140, which deals with the online purchase of eligible foods using WIC funds, and S-2535/A-4048, which concerns health benefits coverage of hearing aids and cochlear implants for insured individuals aged 21 or younger.
In terms of absolute vetoes, Governor Murphy has rejected bills like ACS for A-3677 and 2807/SS for S-2186, which aimed to prohibit the sale, distribution, and propagation of certain invasive species without a permit from the Department of Agriculture.
These actions by Governor Murphy showcase his engagement with a wide range of legislative matters, solidifying his stance on various issues affecting the state of New Jersey.
