In an exciting development for New Jersey residents, Governor Phil Murphy, Labor Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo, and State Chief Innovation Officer Dave Cole unveiled the launch of My Career NJ, a state-of-the-art digital platform aimed at connecting job seekers with valuable resources for career advancement.

Governor Murphy emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “As Governor, I have made it a priority to expand employment opportunities and enable more New Jersey residents to leverage their unique skill sets in pursuit of their career aspirations.”

The innovative website, available in English and Spanish, offers personalized career resources such as training programs, online classes for upskilling, and tailored career recommendations to help individuals find meaningful work in today's evolving job market.

Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo highlighted the significance of leveraging technology for workforce development, stating, “By using the latest advancements in technology and best practices in human-centered design, My Career NJ expands the boundaries of what state government can do for its workforce.”

Chief Innovation Officer Dave Cole shared insights into the collaborative process behind the platform, stating, “Already, hundreds of New Jerseyans shared their job search stories and provided valuable insights, which informed the creation of these resources.”

My Career NJ features two key tools, the NJ Training Explorer and the NJ Career Navigator, designed to assist users in finding suitable training programs and generating personalized job recommendations based on individual skills and career goals.

The platform was developed with input from various stakeholders, including New Jersey residents, training providers, career coaches, and academic experts, to ensure its effectiveness in supporting job seekers. Additionally, the collaboration between government agencies and tech-for-social-good non-profits facilitated the successful launch of My Career NJ.

The initiative aligns with the broader Resident Experience Initiative (ResX), funded through the federal American Rescue Plan, aiming to enhance how New Jersey delivers benefits and services to its residents through innovative technology solutions. My Career NJ represents a significant step towards empowering individuals to pursue rewarding careers and achieve long-term success in the workforce.
