Eagles at Mercer Lake : Mercer County Park visitors were treated to dozens of eagles and hundreds of Common Merganser this past weekend. There were over 26 Bald Eagles, adults and immatures, flying over the water, catching fish, sitting on trees on the opposite side of the lake, and even sitting in trees over the trail. Remains of feathers and fish carcasses were seen scattered over the path. Four adult Bald Eagles were sitting at the top of the power tower at one time while others were staring down at us. The park had many visitors using binoculars and cameras, and all were enthralled and excited by the number of eagles spotted.
