The TCNJ men’s track and field team competed at two separate meets over the weekend, with most of the squad traveling to Philadelphia for the Widener Schuylkill Showdown and Jayvee Dumas participating in the Bomber Invitational at Ithaca College.

At the Widener Schuylkill Showdown, Maxim Rychkov stood out by resetting a program record in the 200m. He finished with a time of 21.26 seconds, which is currently ranked as the third fastest in NCAA Division III. Earlier in the meet, Rychkov won the 60m event with a time of 6.78 seconds, narrowly missing his own program record of 6.77 that he shares with alumnus Raymond Schmitt.

Rychkov also anchored TCNJ’s winning 4×400 relay team alongside Nathaniel Adams, Anthony Senatore, and Lebron Rose. Their time of 3:15.43 ranks third nationally among Division III teams this season. In addition to their relay success, Rose and Adams placed sixth and seventh respectively in the 60m hurdles, posting times of 8.58 and 8.63 seconds. Jack Attali led TCNJ in that event by finishing fifth at 8.50 seconds.

In the 400m race, Noah Traverso set a personal best with a winning time of 48.72 seconds—good for top-25 in Division III this year and marking the third-best performance in TCNJ program history. Will Evarts contributed a sixth-place finish in the 800m with a time of 1:58.26.

TCNJ’s distance runners also performed well in Philadelphia. Brandon Chen won the 5000m with a time of 14:52.82, followed closely by Phil Pace (second place at 14:52.93). Evan Melito (seventh place) and Josh Santiago (ninth place) rounded out four Lions inside the top ten for that event; Chen, Pace, and Melito all ran faster than previous meet records.

In field events, Braden Paulmenn led TCNJ’s throwers by placing sixth in shot put and eighth in weight throw; Christian Farhat finished eighth and tenth respectively in those events behind Paulmenn’s results. Matthew Corrigan was runner-up in pole vault after setting a personal record mark of 4.25 meters; Zach Kosinski tied for seventh at 3.80 meters.

At Ithaca College’s Bomber Invitational, Jayvee Dumas was TCNJ’s sole representative on the men’s side and delivered an impressive performance by scoring a personal best of 4864 points in the heptathlon—the second-best total ever recorded by a Lion.
