Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 12th district since 2015, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing issues ranging from immigration enforcement to public health and government leadership.

On January 7, 2026, Rep. Watson Coleman criticized Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), stating: “ICE has been terrorizing peaceful communities for months. They have routinely escalated situations and made people feel unsafe in their neighborhoods. And now a woman is dead. DHS has been reckless in their hiring, training, and execution. Secretary Noem should immediately https://t.co/Pdb1AbUeF7”.

The following day, on January 8, she emphasized the importance of reliable health information sources for the public: “Now more than ever, the American people need resources they can trust to keep themselves and their families safe. For accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date information about vaccines and the diseases they prevent, visit the Vaccine Education Center. https://t.co/hzDkTY1o3B”.

Also on January 8, Rep. Watson Coleman criticized Secretary Kennedy’s approach to medical policy: “Secretary Kennedy continues to rely on conspiracy theories and medical quackery at the behest of Trump’s political base instead of trusting decades of proven science by the actual experts. https://t.co/rBOPkYpLvQ”.

Watson Coleman’s statements reflect her ongoing engagement with national debates over immigration enforcement practices and public health policy.

She has served in Congress since replacing Rush Holt Jr., after previously serving in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and currently residing in Ewing Township, Watson Coleman earned her BA from Thomas Edison State University in 1985.
