Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 12th district, has recently spoken out on several issues through her social media platform. Serving since 2015 after replacing Rush Holt Jr., Coleman has shared her views on current political matters.
In a post dated April 17, 2025, Coleman criticized the Trump Administration and the GOP, stating, “Trump and the GOP have said life begins at conception. What they failed to mention was that their interest healthy babies and mothers ENDS at conception. The Trump Administration is slashing programs that have improved the health of children and mothers for the last 50 years.” Her concerns reflect the impact of proposed budget cuts on health programs benefiting mothers and children.
The following day, on April 18, 2025, Coleman attended a town hall in Cranbury. She reported, “Last night, I had the opportunity to attend a town hall in Cranbury. Residents expressed to me their concerns about tariffs, the potential impacts of Congressional Republicans’ cuts to medicaid, and President Trump’s refusal to abide by court rulings.” The event highlighted local residents’ worries about economic policies and legal compliance by the administration.
On the same day, Coleman conveyed a seasonal message to her followers, saying, “Happy Good Friday and Happy Resurrection Day to all who are celebrating today and this weekend. May you find peace, good health, happiness, and a spirit of service during this holy time.” Expressing goodwill, she wished her community a time of reflection and service during the holiday period.
Born in Camden, New Jersey, in 1945, Bonnie Watson Coleman, now 78, resides in Ewing Township. She obtained her BA from Thomas Edison State University in 1985 and has previous experience in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010.
