U.S. Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman, who has represented New Jersey’s 12th district since 2015, has posted several criticisms of former President Donald Trump’s administration and the conditions at Delaney Hall detention facility in a series of tweets published in December 2025.

On December 19, Watson Coleman alleged financial misconduct by Donald Trump during his second term, stating: “In Donald Trump’s second term, we’ve witnessed a system that has allowed him to enrich himself while in office, with little to no consequence. He’s used taxpayer money to support his own businesses. He’s sold access to foreign governments and wealthy donors through private”.

Turning her attention to detainee welfare, Watson Coleman criticized the Trump Administration’s management of detention facilities on December 21. She wrote: “This is indicative of the Trump Administration’s complete disregard for the basic standards of health and safety of detainees. Delaney Hall should be immediately closed and I encourage my colleagues from both parties to conduct oversight at facilities around the country.”

In another post on the same day, she addressed ongoing concerns regarding Delaney Hall: “This has been on display at Delaney Hall since it opened this past Spring. The warnings made by myself, my congressional colleagues, the Mayor, and others have been met by DHS with dismissal and frivolous legal action.”

Watson Coleman was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1945 and currently resides in Ewing Township. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Thomas Edison State University (1985). Before joining Congress in 2015—replacing Rush Holt Jr.—she served in the New Jersey General Assembly between 2006 and 2010.
