Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, who represents New Jersey’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several political issues on her social media account, focusing on infrastructure funding and presidential actions affecting state governors.
On February 9, 2026, Rep. Watson Coleman posted about delays to a major transportation project: “Construction of the Gateway tunnel, the largest infrastructure project in the county, has been well underway. Yet, thanks to President Trump holding funding hostage for the sake of political retribution, 1000 people hard at work on the tunnel were laid off during the lapse.”
Later that day, she commented on an exclusion from a national event: “The President has chosen to exclude the only Black governor and one of our nation’s only LGBTQ governors from the National Governors Association dinner. How petty. As long as Governor Moore and Governor Polis are disinvited, no governor should attend.” This statement refers to Maryland Governor Wes Moore and Colorado Governor Jared Polis.
On February 11, 2026, Rep. Watson Coleman responded to criticism with another post: “Was it the claim that ‘the only thing more powerful than hate is love’ that offended you Randy?”
Watson Coleman has served in Congress since 2015 after replacing Rush Holt Jr., following a period in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. She was born in Camden in 1945 and currently resides in Ewing Township. In addition to her legislative career, she holds a BA from Thomas Edison State University.
