Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, a U.S. Congresswoman representing New Jersey’s 12th district since 2015, has recently used her social media platform to criticize House Republican leadership and Speaker Johnson over healthcare legislation and the current administration’s policies.
On December 17, 2025, Rep. Watson Coleman posted: “House Republicans playing procedural games to PREVENT a vote from passing that would have kept healthcare premiums from skyrocketing. Honestly, who are these guys working for, because it’s not everyday Americans?”
The following day, she commented on the President’s recent address: “What we just watched was a desperate plea from a delusional man obsessed with his own image watching his popularity crater. Any American can see his terrible domestic and economic policies have wreaked havoc on our country and instead of changing course, the President is trying”
Later on December 18, Rep. Watson Coleman addressed delays in extending Affordable Care Act tax credits: “Families are facing higher healthcare costs because Speaker Johnson is delaying a simple vote to extend the ACA tax credits – even though there is bipartisan support. The Speaker could hold this vote TODAY and give Americans some sense of relief going into the holiday season.”
Watson Coleman’s comments come amid ongoing debates in Congress regarding healthcare affordability and legislative procedures. She has represented New Jersey’s 12th District since replacing Rush Holt Jr. in 2015 and previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. Born in Camden, New Jersey in 1945, she currently resides in Ewing Township and holds a BA from Thomas Edison State University.
