Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, who represents New Jersey’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on December 11, 2025, addressing healthcare affordability and environmental legislation currently before the House.
In a tweet at 15:40 UTC, Watson Coleman stated, “Americans are facing a healthcare affordability crisis. Premiums for many New Jerseyans are skyrocketing; up over 200% in many cases. I’ve signed on to legislation to fix this GOP-made disaster and all we need is a few Republicans to sign on to give Americans the stability they”.
Later that day at 17:26 UTC, she commented on pending environmental legislation: “Today the House is voting on the PERMIT Act. The acronym is nonsense; what the bill does is PERMIT polluters to go wild on our rivers, streams, lakes and shorelines. New Jersey has come a long way in cleaning up our rivers. The PERMIT Act threatens to send us back.”
In another post at the same time, Watson Coleman advocated for alternative legislation: “Instead, we should be taking up the WATER Act, my bill with @SenSanders and @RepRoKhanna. Clean water is a human right. Protecting our water is our duty.”
Watson Coleman has served as U.S. Representative for New Jersey’s 12th District since 2015 after succeeding Rush Holt Jr., following her tenure in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2006 to 2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and currently residing in Ewing Township, she earned her BA from Thomas Edison State University in 1985.
