Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, who represents New Jersey’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing both cultural celebrations and political issues.

On April 14, 2026, Watson Coleman extended greetings to those observing Vaisakhi, stating: “Happy Vaisakhi! May this celebration of faith and abundance remind us all of the importance of the Sikh and Hindu values of charity, unity, and justice.”

The following day, she commented on the proposed federal budget by former President Donald Trump. On April 15, 2026, she wrote: “Trump’s proposed budget slashes programs that working- and middle-class Americans use every day while boosting the Pentagon budget by an obscene 42%! Today, I’ll be demanding trumps budget director Russell Vought justify this cash grab by defense contractors.”

Later that same day, Watson Coleman reiterated her stance regarding Trump’s conduct in office. She posted: “Correct, I’ve been a vocal critic of Trump’s corruption, abuse of office, and violence against the American People, US Capitol Police, and civilians abroad. I’m calling for Trump to be impeached and removed from office – as I have for months.”

Watson Coleman has served in Congress since 2015 after succeeding Rush Holt Jr., following previous service in the New Jersey General Assembly between 2006 and 2010. Born in Camden in 1945 and currently residing in Ewing Township at age 78, she earned a BA from Thomas Edison State University in 1985.
